| A ´professional´ success
of a the strange kind: The Fun-Fiction bookstore,
Heidelberg/ Germany opened it´s RPG department on Jan. 8th.
And I was asked to produce a medieval ambient-sound. So I´ve
got a name to lose, as out-of-line artist. The result of the 7 day
production time was something I named timidly "Dark Age Industrial". The effect on the audience was as controversal as can be: some loved it and the rest had to be stopped to not rip the CD-player apart. To be such a "Provokateur" I never dared dreaming off. | What
a stressful run. After long preperations I finally manged to ready
the graduation examns for Magister Artium., taking place from Oct.
5th. to next year same time. This overcomes the gap I fell in after my regular army services (ger.:"Wehrpflicht) because of personal loss of perspective and few glimpses of light at the End of the tunnel. One, besides starting the right higher education for the wrong reasons, I discovered the works of German-writing Japanese author Yoko Tawada. Suddenly my studies and perspective started to make sense, leading to new inspirations and energy. |

I decided to exclude the songs "Benediction is a number" and "Filth
Upon The Poet´s Heart" from the "The True Nature
of Dadaism" record because of the following issues: 1. The production techniques of both pieces do differ too much from my current setup and technique. This works against the intented focus of the album in musical and conceptual ways. Considering the hard work necessary, in the context of adjusting and levelling up, the results will prove to be unrewarding. Therefor these songs do not represent what I want to achieve with the Dadaism album anymore. 2. There may be issue with sample clearing for commercial use. In the old AMIGA days nobody cared for sample copyrights, inside or outside the industry, bedroomstudio or professional. This has changed a lot. Today I own all the necessary licences of the samples or use explicit freewares or create them my own. 3. It occured to me that the wish to incorporate the two songs may have halted the advance of "Dadaism" for over the years. This is just a thought but I have to admit I feel much lighter and better since the deciscion to skip these two. I WILL rework them, however not in the train of the finally forthcoming "Dadaism" album. |
